1. Valid Identification: What You’ll Need to Bring
Each person applying for a marriage license must provide a valid form of identification. Make sure your ID is current and not expired. Acceptable forms of ID include:

2. Have You Been Previously Married?
If either of you has been married before, we’ll need additional documentation to proceed. If any of the following occurred within the past 2 years, you must provide proof:

- Domestic Partnership Dissolution
If your previous marriage or partnership ended more than 2 years ago, you will still need to provide the date (month, day, and year) when it ended, whether it's from a divorce, annulment, or the death of your spouse.
3. Parent Information
When applying for your marriage license, you’ll need to know your birth parents' full names. This includes:
- Full names (first, middle, and last) of both parents.
- If your parent’s maiden name is listed on your birth certificate, make sure to provide it as well.
In cases where a parent is not listed on your birth certificate, it is acceptable to indicate "UNKNOWN" in place of their name.
4. Same Address Requirement
When filling out your marriage license application, both partners must list the same home address. While there is no need to provide proof of cohabitation, both partners are required to list the same address on the form. The county will not verify your living situation, but this step is mandatory for the application to be processed.
